History
“Institute of Forestry” AD Podgorica was initially established on 9 December 1952 under the name Forest Management Bureau Titograd, by decision of the Secretariat for Economy of the Government of the People’s Republic of Montenegro, with the mandate:
- to conduct geodetic surveys of forest areas for the preparation of forest management plans
- to carry out revisions of forest management plans
- to conduct forest inventory assessments.
1984.
The Bureau was subsequently transformed into a Work Organisation
“Institute of Forestry and Wood Processing”.
1990.
It was renamed as the Social Enterprise
“Institute of Forestry and Wood Processing” Titograd.
1999.
Through ownership transformation (privatisation) and alignment with the Companies Act, it became “Institute of Forestry” AD Podgorica, under which name it continues to operate today.
